Bigo Live’s Built-in Safety Features:
- Content moderation
- Bigo Live uses a combination of automated vision, audio, and text monitoring tools along with a team consisting of hundreds of in-house live moderators to constantly monitor the platform and remove any content that violates our guidelines immediately.
- Bigo Live has built local content moderation teams in more than 10 countries and regions, covering more than 20 languages.
Bigo Live’s Safety Partners:
- Bark Technologies: Our Atlanta-based safety partner that provides comprehensive online safety solutions giving parents and guardians the tools they need to raise kids in the digital age.
- National Center for Missing and Exploited Children: Bigo is registered with the NCMEC’s CyberTipline, the nation’s centralized reporting system for the online exploitation of children, which allows us to swiftly report any suspicious activity to their national database.
Control Your Bigo Live Experience:
Manage Stream Viewers
- During a live stream, you have complete control over your community of viewers.Simply open a viewer’s profile, tap “manage” in the upper left corner and select:
- Mute: prevents the user from commenting on your stream.
- Kick out/Block: removes the user from your stream & allows you to permanently block their profile from joining your streams going forward.
- Set as admin: hand admin controls over to people you trust so you can focus on your stream.
- Report: send the Bigo Live team an alert about abusive behavior, improper chats, illegal avatars, or nickname violations during a live stream. All reports will be reviewed by Bigo Live moderators.
- Manage Direct Messages
- You can always block certain profiles from sending you direct messages. Simply tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select “block” to permanently prevent that profile from sending you direct messages.

- We encourage all users to turn on two-factor authentication in order to provide another layer of protection to their account. Two factor authentication can be enabled at any time from the Settings menu.
- Age restrictions for broadcasting
- You may only use our Service if you are 18 years or older, and if you are not subject to statutory age limit to agree to terms of service according to the applicable laws and regulations in your country.
Safety Tools for Users:
- How to block a user
- Go to user profile
- Click “• • •” in the top right corner
- Select Block in the bottom menu
- Select Block again to confirm
- How to report inappropriate content
- Bigo Live defines inappropriate content as:
- Violence of any kind, including self-inflicted and against animals
- Pornography
- Nudity
- Underage broadcasting (please see the aforementioned age restrictions for details on how we classify underage users based on their location)
- Drug use
- Gambling
- Disparaging religious leaders
- Fraud
- Terrorism
- Email us-safety@bigo.tv to notify the Bigo Live team of any inappropriate content, noting the account it came from along with any screenshots you may have captured. From there, Bigo Live will immediately evaluate the content and if it violates our guidelines we will remove it as well as block the user who posted it.
- Bigo Live will address all reported issues as quickly as possible, but please contact law enforcement immediately if you see any content that suggests someone is in imminent danger.
Help us Keep Our Community Safe, Inclusive & Positive:
- We strongly encourage all of our users to report misuse of our Services, inappropriate content, or harmful conduct towards others.
- If we learn of situations where we may be able to help support or protect our community, we will take immediate appropriate action: offering help, removing content, removing or restricting access to certain features, disabling an account, or contacting law enforcement.
- To report this kind of content or behavior on Bigo Live email us here or, in-app, tap on a profile, go to “manage -> report”. Our team of moderators will investigate and take action where appropriate.

- Report at-risk behavior during a live broadcast. The person will receive a message offering help, support, and resources.
